Prime Minister Imran Khan to attend National Assembly session today

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan to attend the session of the National Assembly on Thursday (today), to take the lower house into confidence on his recent visits of China and Saudi Arabia.

The Leader of the House will also speak in the National Assembly session, on the current political and economic situation of the country.

Incarcerated Opposition Leader, Shehbaz Sharif, who is currently in National Accountability Bureau’s sub jail, is also expected to address the National Assembly session, who is on transit remand till November 10.

Prime Minister Imran Khan presently chairing the federal cabinet meeting to discuss 21-point agenda. It is learnt that the meeting will approve the issuance of tax directory for the public.

The cabinet will also approve a maritime accord with Sri Lanka during the meeting. The cabinet will give the go ahead for appointment of the Chairman Trading Corporation of Pakistan.

The prime minister returned to Pakistan after official visit of China on Tuesday, in which both the countries inked several agreements of cooperation and memorandum of understanding.

Pakistan and China had signed 15 agreements and memorandum of understanding (MoUs) for cooperation in different fields during the prime minister’s visit.

Agreements relating to poverty alleviation in Pakistan and strengthening of cooperation in agriculture, industrial sectors and technical training were also signed by the two sides.

The two countries signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation in forestry, earth sciences and transfer of electronics.

In an earlier visit of Premier, Imran Khan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on October 23, KSA had agreed to provide Pakistan $3billion for a period of one year as balance of payment support. The Kingdom had also agreed to provide a one year deferred payment facility for import of oil, up to $3billion, The arrangement will be in place for three years, which will be reviewed thereafter.
